When you’re studying kundalini yoga and taking your initial classes, you may find that you come across this particular kriya. The sequence works to open you up and enable to you banish any negativity you may be experiencing in your current everyday life.

The true power of this kriya lies in the fact that it can rid you of your stresses and worries. Many students use the Ego Eradicator when they are in times of trouble and need some extra guidance. The sequence opens not only your physical body but also your mind and soul. It is a way in which you may unlock all that has been hidden from you and see the unseen.

Breaking through a problem or finding the right path may seem impossible. Through this kriya, students are able to rise above their fears and make the correct choice for their lives. As you enact the Ego Eradicator, you have a moment of sheer contemplation and stillness.

Within this period, you may well have the chance to better understand your own needs and desires. The kriya will pull you into a meditative state which will energize and engage your electromagnetic fields. Doing so allows you to become more centered, content, and ready to move with the natural flow of the world and universe.

How to do Ego Eradicator

It is recommended to hold this kriya for between one and three minutes.

Directions

  1. Your eyes should be closed for the duration of the Ego Eradicator kriya. 
  2. Start in either rock pose or easy pose – choose which suits you. 
  3. Bring each of your arms up above your head. Your arms should be at a 60-degree angle out from your sides. 
  4. Relax your shoulders and avoid bending your elbows. Move into the neck lock. 
  5. Move your fingers into your hands as though creating a relaxed fist. 
  6. Your thumbs should be pointed up toward the sky. Pull each of them as far back as you can so that they are angled away from your palm. 
  7. Inhale using the breath of fire technique. As you exhale, open your fingers out and bring your arms down to your sides. 
  8. Repeat the entire sequence again for one-to-three minutes.
